Improve the Oxford experience. Build community, celebrate racial diversity, and inspire change.
One of OUSU's permanent campaigns, the Campaign for Racial Awareness and Equality (CRAE) is the only group at Oxford dedicated to creating a more just and inclusive student experience at the University through action and engagement with racial diversity and difference.
This past year has been an exciting one for CRAE. We have launched a number of new campaigns, including:
Schools and Access: pilot programmes with Colleges to spark greater outreach to BME students in local schools.
100 Voices, a participant action research effort to assemble and share the experiences of BME students at Oxford. Read the 100 Voices Report.
Trainings and Workshops: equality and sensitivity trainings to JCR and MCR committees on issues of diversity and difference.
By joining CRAE, you can have a huge influence on improving student experience; working with national experts and equality organisations; and transforming the way in which people and institutions at Oxford understand, support, and create environments for racial diversity.
Racial difference and diversity are often hard and silenced issues. CRAE is a safe space and action hub to talk about them, make progress, and inspire progress at this University. Join us.
CRAE is a safe space within which people can freely talk about hard and often silenced issues. Each term we hold two ‘Tea Time discussion events’ providing such spaces. Please sign-up to our mailing list to be kept up-to-date with opportunities and events.
We encourage everyone to get involved in this dynamic, engaging and necessary campaign. CRAE meets every Thursday evening, 6:00-7:30pm at OUSU. To join:
