Student Community Warden
Salary: £9 per hour
Hours: 5 hours per week (0.15 FTE), Term Time Only

About The Role

Are you passionate about student-community relations and living out issues? Do you enjoy talking with people and helping them with their concerns? If so, apply to be an OUSU Community Warden!

Launched in 2012, the OUSU Community Warden scheme maintains positive student-community relationships in Jericho and East Oxford. Through doorknocking, email, and social media, Community Wardens address concerns and disseminate important information regarding landlords and letting agencies, good neighbourliness, waste and recycling, and safety. They also manage exciting campaigns, publish newsletters, organise events (most recently the Pimm’s & Cake Party at St Anne’s and the Cowley Cleanup), and serve as student ambassadors in meetings with local stakeholders.

This term, our East Oxford team is expanding. We’re looking for University of Oxford students who are keen to make a positive impact on the local community, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and enjoy working in a team. Having an awareness of key issues affecting students who ‘live out’ is an advantage. Both undergraduates and graduates are welcome to apply.

The role is extremely flexible and requires only five hours a week, so can easily fit around your studies. What’s more, it is a paid position, and it is guaranteed to broaden your perception of Oxford beyond the University!
